Imagine a country where you can cross from the Atlantic to the Pacific in just one day, and where the forests and beaches merge in impressive landscapes. This country is Costa Rica, considered the jewel of Central America, a natural paradise with one of the highest biodiversities in the planet in spite of its small size. In this trip of Trekking in Costa Rica we offer you the opportunity to know the nature of this country walking on its trails and visiting not very touristic places. Nothing better than a trekking trip to enjoy the spectacular and wild beauty of Costa Rica. You can combine the trekking trips with activities offered in our trip of ecotourism or community-based rural tourism (see the corresponding trips for more information).
Next we will propose a serial of walks that we can help you to organise. For these walks you will count on specialised guides that will accompany you during the itinerary. If you want to add more places and other types of activities, you can check our trips: Visit communities in Costa Rica, Organic farms in Costa Rica and Discover the nature of Costa Rica. If there is any other place that you wish to visit and it is not included in any of our trips, check with us and we will try to include it in your itinerary.

We will reach the continental divide, where on one side rivers flow to the Pacific while on the other side rivers flow to the Caribbean. Accommodation in a mountain refuge at 2,500 m above sea level, in the midst of pure cloud forest. The next day you will head back to Altamira.

Trekking in Costa Rica is a trip for private groups from 2 to a maximum of 20. The price of the trip will reduce with the number of members in the group. Furthermore, if you get more than 4 people to travel with you, you will benefit from important discounts; check Travel for free in our website for more information. For just one person it is better to join one of our travel groups because otherwise it would be too expensive as a private trip, unless you are thinking on booking specific sections.
